Dan Weber will continue to serve as President

The vote was 194 for Dan to remain in office and 90 for him to be removed. That's a two-thirds majority and only a simple majority was required.  To the 90 that voted for his removal and anyone else who feels AOCE could do more or did something wrong, PLEASE call, text, email or talk to a board member in person. Just click on "OFFICER/STAFF" on this page to get started.

      Recall vote letter

Dear members, I was asked to submit a letter to the membership regarding the recall vote.  Below is my response. ----------------------------------------------------------- My Fellow AOCE Members: This Friday a recall vote begins to remove me from office.

      OSP Shift bid update

When AOCE learned of DOC’s plan to move DSU to SMH we filed a demand-to-bargain.  We met with OSP management and DAS yesterday to bargain these changes.  We learned there was a plan to change some of the start/stop times and days off for shifts.  There was also a plan to create a Response Team that would have been exempt from the bid.

      AOCE Scholarship Program

With the current pandemic at hand, I wanted to again get the word out about the AOCE Patrick J. Harris Scholarship program.  Documentation can be found in "Documents For Download" on the AOCE page.   Applications must be submitted by July 01, 2020, so please don't wait until the last minute to try to complete the paperwork.

      March 23, 2020 update

Today while meeting with Mr. Kelly about OSP and MCCF, the Governor released her newest Executive order. At this time, the only major chances DOC is making that affect staff is to close all staff gyms for working out.  Staff are still able to shower and change clothes prior to, and after work. In the Governor’s order, she has closed local gyms, so DOC is following that order.
