As most of you have read, the Governor and ODOC are looking to close three minimum institutions next bienium.
Their first potential closure is scheduled to be MCCF. We are not happy with this news, as we are sure you are not either.
AOCE is working with our Lobbyist and attorney on different avenues to fight for our members and to keep MCCF open.
Tomorrow, our attorney will filed the attached document so that we can start the process from our end.
AOCE will be meeting with ODOC to discuss senority lists and transfers/lay-offs. A "Lay-off committee" has been formed by ODOC and I will be on that committee as well as our attorney.
Thus far, we have been told MCCF will be closing, and we are also being told that it looks as though all members will be able to slide into vacancies not filled at OSP and or OSCI.
AOCE will post further updates here on the website as we get them from ODOC.
We understand how stressful this is to our members at MCCF, and we will do what we can to protect your rights.
